Welcome to Running with Rainbows, my name is Maja Larson and I am from Oakbank Manitoba Canada!
Happy Spring
I am a self taught Multi media Artist who enjoys making & teaching art online and in person.
All throughout 2025 we are exploring Women Artists and creating fun creative pieces inspired by each Artist!
This month we touched on Alchemy.
“Eat the Plate” - an alchemic term that implies going all in. Using everything in you, inspired this mandala design. We will paint it in using my hand mulled watercolor.
If you made some with me in January I encourage you to use it.
Link here to the class.
In today’s episode I show you three different spirograph kits, I show you how to start an acrylic mandala base we will detail this week, and using some donated kids foam insect stamps we will create a simple motif using my An artists oracle prompts cards.
You can find more information on April is for Alchemy & the oracle in the Element of Emphasis Section here at Running with Rainbows, the cards are available to screenshot and print to use in your own art practice. #aprilisforalchemy25
To do today's class your need to find 3 stampable shapes and 4-5 round objects to trace our mandala. Acrylic paint and brushes.
Mandalas made using stencils and spirograph! Watch for the class this week. Feel free to print and colour.
On the bottom are the prompts I pulled as I set out to create.
This week we will create mandalas in the following styles :
●Spirograph & Watercolor
●Gelli printing
●Dry collage using shapes and old art

5th Annual April is for Alchemy
April is for Alchemy is a perennial philosophy, an opportunity for renewal of the creative spirit every year. A self initiated opportunity to excercise creative and critical thought.
