Embrace the WIP

A summer of the slow brush

If you need more than an afternoon or weekend to ‘finish’ a project, you are not alone.

Or maybe you are like me, three weeks later and feeing it needs tweaking?

In any case, I want you to get comfortable with taking your time, or even not finishing.

Its ok, seriously. Put the canvas aside, come back to it another day.

The trend of paint nights and easy art projects make it seem like you are standing still.

In reality it can take time, art is like a stew it needs to rest to really come together.

I am adding some bright colours to this painting/ collage on canvas from June's class. Seen in the video.

I have done a bunch of art since painting this canvas in May and am ready to add another layer.

Maybe go through your collection and have a second look. Maybe it is saying something new? If you haven't varnished it, its technically a WIP, add another layer. Do something different.

Have a wonderful week
